Well sure if I patch configure it's not. But I thought the standard was
to patch configure.in and then rerun autoconf? i.e. the example for 
BUILD_DEPENDS in Packages.txt specifically uses autoconf as it's example.

i.e. what should be done under "normal" circumstances?
