Oof! That's a separate issue, worthy of its own lengthy thread.

It sounds like it's possible, with RCD_SCRIPTS_DIR and INSTALL_RCD_SCRIPTS 
already in pkgsrc, to find which package "owns" a particular /etc/rc.d 
script. Do you have other reasons to not use /etc/rc.d for this?
