If you think that's enough, then you didn't understand why the pkgs are
removed in the first place, sorry. :)
Programs and libs in the work-dir may be linked against the now-upgraded
package, they may use APIs that have changed, rely on different formats of
config files that were recognized by then-run configure scripts,
etc. etc. etc.
