It's actually share/{doc,examples}/java/${PKGNAME} -- sorry not to make
this clearer. The concern is to maintain a separate subarea for the
java package documentation, most of which is in a clearly defined
format (javadoc), and almost all of which is organized html.

The punchline is that pointing a browser at ${PREFIX}/share/doc/java/
gives useful results, and a unified place for information on all java
APIs available on the current system.
