I'm seeing almost identical behavior on sparc-1.4 running on a
sun4c (IPC) box.  I've tried it with several local optimized
kernels and the GENERIC kernel with the same result.

As far as I can see, it's completed the install except for
registration.  I've got the "not installed" apache running on
one box right now.
