Currently not, there is the bridge between the multiple ethernet(etc.)
interfaces which does - well - bridging.

Additionally one of the interface may be configured with an IP address and
work as a standard interface, which propagates to all other interfaces due
to the bridging, of course.

This two things are orthogonal, though if you use both kinda irritating -
which is where Matthias' suggestion comes in.

I wouldn't mind allowing both ways of configuration, in fact when I set up
my first bridge I tried it just the way Matthias described (and failed, of
course).
