Yes, that certainly makes the main difference. DSL equipement seems to
filter the different lines from each other.

Your packets are normal discovery phase packets from other clients, with
one exception:

I realy like that one (you had multiple of those in your trace). It's already
at session state, see the 8864 ether type and the contents - but still sent
to the broadcast address.
