Sure it will.  Some kind of error condition will arise; depending on
how the implementation handles conditions that are impossible/illegal
for v4 SLIP, it may degrade gracefully or it may not.  Since any
possible sequence of bytes can in principle be generated by
sufficiently bad line noise, one would hope that no implementation
would misbehave severely (eg crash), but you never know....

I don't intend to use it to throw v6 at unsuspecting v4-only
implementations.  "Don't do that, then."
