So it turns out there's a bit of a problem with the vtun package;
it doesn't work unless you pre-create your tun interface with
"ifconfig tun0 create" before you run it.

It would be a bit more friendly if NetBSD did what FreeBSD does,
which is to create the tun interface automatically if it doesn't
exist when the tun device is opened. Does this seem reasonable?
Anybody wanna do it?

Also, FreeBSD has a cool feature when you ifconfig the interface
of an open tun device:

    tun0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
