hi guys,

I am trying to proxy arp for an address which does not fall into any
networks currently in use on a box.

Internet:
Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Mtu Interface
1.1.1/25 link#1 UC 13 0 1500 fxp0
1.1.1.9 00:a0:c9:39:60:27 UHLc 2 1020 1500 lo0

# route add -host 1.5.1.1 1.1.1.9
add host 1.5.1.1: gateway 1.1.1.9
# arp -s 1.5.1.1 00:a0:c9:39:60:27 pub
cannot intuit interface index and type for 1.5.1.1

If the proxyarp address falls within a network on the box, it works,
but defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to achieve, eg.

# arp -s 1.1.1.5 00:a0:c9:39:60:27

is it not possible to proxyarp for a foreign address? is this a bug?
should i send-pr?

g.
