Personally, I think this proposal is unnecessarily morbid.  Reminding
users of death each time they read the documentation doesn't seem
good.

People will continue to die as the OS gets older, and I don't think we
really want to make a habit of listing each of their deaths in
pertinent manpages. What makes ping different from any other useful
program in this regard?

I would just as soon see us not set this precedent.
