Defaults :-)  SCO have twisted my arm into installing what turned
out a much better Intel driver.  We're down to 0.25/0.29 seconds
for the file transfer (a new kernel, but probably not significantly
larger).

I think I understand why the new NetBSD kernel made a difference,
namely that the SCO host was being clobbered trying to manage the
better performance on the NetBSD side.

I'm a much happier administrator, now :-)
