Ok; gated will properly ignore unknow messages as well. Unfortunably,
gated makes assumtions about what the number of RTM_IFINFO is, this will
require some minor changes to the sources to have it working with a hole in
the RTM_xxx numberings. 

I'll try do clean up all this next week end ...
