I sat down and did most of this coding last night (after finishing my AI
homework, and while trying to convince a small but mentally unstable cat
that I am harmless).

I implemented everything except freeing up the address list. Everything
seems to go fine, except that having the old address hang around causes
ifconfig to issue an error message. I'll have a go at fixing the
oddities tonight, but my laptop won't crash anymore, so I'm feeling
quite pleased about that.
