It seems FreeBSD have same problems. FreeBSD freeze somewhere around
root mount.

acpi_wmi0: <ACPI-WMI mapping> on acpi0
acpi_wmi0: cannot find EC device
lo0: link state changed to UP
ums0 numa-domain 0 on uhub2
ums0: <Virtual Mouse> on usbus2

Thats it, nothing more happens, no further activity.
I can boot Linux to get acpidump or something.
