fwiw, I contacted Matthieu Herrb, author of xf86-input-ws, if we could add scaling to the X input driver. It already has these MaxX, MinX etc. variables for absolute devices, so it might be a good place to add the scaling, too (and maybe it even already exists somewhere). -mb
