netbsd-5 and ASUS P5QL-E

Dear All,

I have installed netbsd-5 i386 port (2009-05-23 or so) on ASUS P5QL-E
with a Core2 Quad Q9400 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. So far, the system has
been running well.

Things that work:
- SATA (four of seven ports in use)
- Ethernet (ale) in 100 Mbps mode (1 Gbps not tested)
- USB (keyboard, mouse, memory stick)
- audio (partially, see below)
- envstat
- GeForce 7300 GT (with X.org)

Not tested:
- firewire
- Ethernet at 1 Gbps

Not working:
- SPDIF output (both coaxial and optical are dead)

The audio codec is RealTek ALC1200 (according to manual), but NetBSD
recognizes it as:

azalia0 at pci0 dev 27 function 0: Generic High Definition Audio Controller
azalia0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 22
azalia0: host: 0x8086/0x3a3e (rev. 0), HDA rev. 1.0
azalia0: codec[0]: Realtek ALC888 (rev. 1.1), HDA rev. 1.0
audio0 at azalia0: full duplex, independent

I couldn't find an ALC1200 datasheet, so I have no idea of the differences
between ALC888 and ALC1200. Linux folks seem to have had problems with
ALC1200 as well, but they have managed to get the digital outputs working.

So far, P5QL-E is working pretty well with NetBSD. I'd appreciate the sound
output, though :-)
