Mathematica 7 on 4.0/amd64

There seems to be no tech-emul, so I put my question here:

Does Mathematica 7 run under the Linux emulation of 4.0/amd64 or will I need 
5.0 for that?

Regarding the patches mentioned in http://www.netbsd.org/docs/compat.html:
Wouldn't chroot /emul/linux32 /bin/bash work instead? Running chroot'ed, the 
install script should in fact call /emul/linux32/bin/uname, which, being 
emulated, should return "Linux".
