NetBSD/i386 cannot handle more than 3 or 3.5GB (depending on the
PCI hole) and it handles more than 2GB badly(*).
I would recommend to run NetBSD/amd64.

(*) At least it had a lot of problems when NetBSD 3.0 was released.
And I don't think so where ever fixed.
