I put an ohci/ehci board into my O2, tried to newfs the USB disk
and got the same problem as before - ended up with a filesystem
without root directory. To see what exactly goes wrong I dd'ed half
the disk with zeroes but that apparently worked fine, I couldn't
find any garbage. Then I rewrote the disklabel, newfs - no problem,
root directory exists. Right now I'm torturing the disk with bonnie+
+, no errors of any kind so far.
No idea why the errors disappeared after zeroing and rewriting the
... and they came back. Unfortunately I can't test the uhci on
sparc64 right now because someone borked something in arch/sparc64
again - MP kernels die with an Illegal Fast MMU Access again.
