Can you get something more explicit?  Is the panic a data access
exception or something more specific?  Is the "expected" message
more like:
	sk0: bad VPD resource id: expected 82 got 0

Or something different?

Have you tried compiling with SK_DEBUG defined?  This is not so useful
unless you can get the output (via serial or photograph or something).
