FWIW, on my RouterBOARD 153 (Infineon AMD5120), I see a hard hang
after this:

ath0: interrupting at irq 6

Ordinarily, the next line would be

ath0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
 
I will apply your patch and try again.
