Yes, it's larger work.  I'm OK with KTRMIB for now, but I don't want  
it to become a slippery slope.  We should invest in a better tracing  
infrastructure.  Rumor has it that FreeBSD is working on integrating  
OpenSolaris's dtrace, as well... perhaps some of that work can be  
leveraged.
