There is an issue with ptyfs on netbsd-3 that I have meant to send-pr for a
while, where occasionally a pty cannot be created. In some of these cases
something attempts to create a pty that already exists (typically owned by
another user), but in other cases the number to allocate would be available.

Matlab 13 then complains about not being able to create any background
jobs, while Matlab 14 simply aborts.

And if you want to create binary modules, you need to install the
suse_devel which last I looked was (a) broken and (b) still from suse 7.3.
