And, of course, you can simply choose to glue an "ld" to it like the  
twe uses, and simply have the command protocol that the ld plugin  
uses look an awful lot like SCSI.

(I don't think the 9xxx's SCSI processing is sufficiently SCSI-enough  
to really be treated exactly like a SCSI device.)
