| Why is com(4) /dev/ttyC? on those platforms? The manpage mentions only
| /dev/tty0? in the FILES section, which is confusing. /etc/remote also has
| only /dev/dty0? , which is also confusing.

On those plataforms there are links like:
/dev/tty00 -> /dev/ttyX1
/dev/tty01 -> /dev/ttyX2

Or something similar.
