It is now approaching 2 years since I submitted PR 22232.

It is such a trivial (if unimportant) bug, and so blindingly
obvious that it is a bug (even if one in code that is irrelevant
to everyone) that it really could get fixed, and the PR closed.

I'm addressing this to Frank, as he seems to have been responsible
for committing the bug in the first place (just possibly copied from
FreeBSD, though I don't see anything dealing with FFS_EI in their
repository - I didn't look hard though), and tech-kern as it is
clearly a kernel (filesystem) bug.

It would have been nice for this to have been fixed before 2.0.
It would certainly be nice to get it fixed before 3.0 & 2.1 ...
