"Sometimes."

Older hp9000/300s used HP-proprietary MMUs, whereas newer/higher-end
models, like /360 and /400s (HPollo) with 68030/68040 and so used the
on-chip Moto MMU.

I _think_ some midrange models had an upgradable CPU daughtercard,
where the older/cheaper daughtercard used an '020 and 68851, and the
faster boards with 030 used the on-chip MMU. But its been about 18
years, so dont quote me on it.
