Oh, please.  If you're going to make bogus war analogies, let's call it what 
it really is.  You're taking a potshot at the Arab in the bar because 
actually attacking the real target is beyond you.

It *is* nothing more than a potshot, after all -- it does not fix any of the 
real (read: enough to be measurable) sources of data loss.  And at the same 
time will hurt performance, and risk introducing new bugs.  The cost/benefit 
is absurd.
