I've got a Sony Clie SJ22 that I thought I'd see if I could hot sync.

usbdevs -v shows:
 port 3 addr 2: full speed, self powered, config 1, Palm Handheld(0x0066), Palm, Inc.(0x054c), rev 1.00

It's not amenable (yet) to acting like a memory stick reader with
NetBSD, so being able to hot sync instead would be nice.  Any
debugging tips?
