This shouldn't be hard, and most of the work is part of fixing:
  
  port-macppc/23924 "newfs -v creates bad APPLE_UFS filesystems"

Which I plan to do soon.  The rest of the work is just adding
a command line option to create a netbsd 1.6 (and bsd 4.4)
compatible filesystem.
