Sorry to reply to myself.

Today I built a filesystem on raid0 without using cgd0. After filling about
5GB the system hung in the same way as described earlier. It's apparently not
cgd's fault. I'm kinda lost since I read that people were using RAIDframe in
busier setups successfully.

Before using RAID the box had uptimes of upto 90 days until I deliberately
brought it down. The only issues I had were related to NetBSD not recognizing
the disks when they were sole masters on their channels. Now I'm using 2
disks on one channel each in a normal master/slave config. They run UDMA100 just
fine and I never had any transfer errors/dma downgrades since.

Any thoughts welcome *sigh*
