It's important to keep the source tree building...  But, how is it
even remotely possible to think that the change below is the right
solution to the problem?!

("take a look at the diff folks, it's really kinda special.")

#ifdef out the structure (if not _KERNEL), i'd believe.  #ifdef out
three members, and three members only, well, that I find ... a bit
more unlikely...
