Curiously, the quality of the product seems proportional to such
ego.  It is even more true of Bell Labs' Plan 9 (with all due
respect to all involved, of course, whose ability, in my opinion,
exceeds any real or perceived ego excess - I guess that includes
Theo).

What it seems to boil down to is that the criterion by which software
is measured is quantity rather than quality.  My vote, at least,
is not with the norm.
