I think, personally, that it would make more sense, at least, were
the UI to handle the <partition> notation on input, i.e. where if
a partition name is given at the 'Offset' prompt, it would start
where partition $partition ends, and behave similarly by ending
where $partition starts if given at the 'Length' prompt.
