Just to be clear...  The idea is to import the GPL compressor into
basesrc and a reimplementation under a TNF license into libkern?
(and basesrc?)  As someone asked earlier, have you contacted the
author to see if he's willing to relicense it?  Or do you just want
to implement it yourself?  ;-)

You've tested the compression on the microcode images, but have you
done any performance benchmarking to verify the claims made on the
website?  Does the bytestream decompress as well on BE as well as LE
platforms?  And is the compressed code endian-agnostic?
