Okay, so kre wouldn't use -z and greywolf would.  What's the big deal?
Why are we still discussing this?  kre, do you think -z is so
ineradicably evil that you don't want even the option there, or what?
Whatever you think applications *should* do, greywolf ran into a case
where the option would have saved some valuable data....
