What is the exact purpose of this?  The way that the multi-architecture
NetBSD release CDs work is to use kernels that have an inbuilt ramdisk
with the root filesystem on that ramdisk.  That way, all you need to
worry about is loading the kernel - everything else is inside the kernel
itself.
