I use a Brother HL-1250 and it seems to work almost as well as it does
under Windows. The only problem I have is that NetBSD doesn't wake the
printer up when it is asleep and promptly gets confused. If I was
concerned about this, I would have fixed it and sent in the patches.
I'll get around to sometime.
