What kind of scsi host adapter do you have? I have an ahc_pci
(Adaptec 2940AU)

when do you get the bus reset? immediately, when the kernel loads the scsi
driver, or just before the 'waiting ...' message?

I booted 1.5.2 to make sure. It behaves different, but there's no bus
reset...
