I haven't tried, and I don't have the machine any longer now.

But I've something else for you - you're our PCIIDE man, right?
I have a Portege 4000 now, which panics when accessing the CDROM during
installof 1.5.1 and 1.5.2. I haven't tried -current yet, but this sure is
annoying! 

Error message is (10 finger dump):
