It seems to me that it has basically been this way since 4.4.  Before
that (in 4.3reno), VOP_SYMLINK took a `struct nameidata *', but still
didn't use the ndp->ni_vp, and it wasn't set by nfs_symlink.  So I
think it has been this way `for ever'.
