I have no idea about this, but

If you saw 'wd1 at wdc0 channel 0 drive 1: <ST506>' (not wd0 but wd1) in
Japanese articles, they might be about the problem, 'ghost of MicroDrive'.
Did you see 'The ghost of MicroDrive' in ?
