In the last letter, you said the code path in NetBSD is :
  device interrupt -> protocol input queue -> software interrupt=
 ->
       ip_input -> fr_check (via PFIL_HOOKS)
I think you are right.

I have check the code of  ip_input( ) and have another question.

ip_input( )
{
   ......
   ip_forward(m, 0);

ours:
   ......
}


The question of mine is :
Where does the NAT process, before label "ours" or not ?
