New data points:

NetBSD 1.5 Beta 2: freezes

NetBSD-current (001124): freezes

OpenBSD 2.7: Fn + function_key does nothing (no freeze, no display brightness
control)

Even if I disable APM completely in NetBSD (-current) and see no apm.o file
in the kernel build directory, Fn _still_ freezes the machine. So, I don't
think trying different versions of apm.c would help.

Can _anyone_ tell me _how_ the Fn key stuff on IBM laptops works (or is
supposed to work)?
