For a bootloader, it doesn't have to.  At first I thought he was talking
about the "installer".  The MacOS-based installer should of course go the
way of the Dodo in favor of the sysinst installer which will eventually
support all the nice things like package management, etc.

For a bootloader, you should use libsa.  That's what it's for, and it's
very nice to use.
