I can report the Intel Dual (82558) based PCI
card works very well. We use a dirrivative on
our systems that is based on the 82559 (mainly
for mainentance features on the SM-BUS).

I used a Compaq Dual Port Netelligent 10/100 TX for a long time in
one of my i386 systems and it worked quite fine. Unfortunately this
board is not cheap.
