I've locally modified /etc/rc so that it does a
run_rc_script $i faststart
I wonder why this isn't the default?!?
it is not the default because the "standard" is that scripts get called
with "start" at boot time. i *thought* luke was going to add a backdoor
variable, set only at/for boot time, that would make this happen anyway..
but i guess we only discussed it a few times :-)
