Me Too!  That makes it work correctly on my desktop.

The thing I don't understand is why it worked for me with 16-bit access, as
long as ray_debug was set to 1.

Anyway, given this new driver, I'm gonna see if this works "correctly" on
my i440LX motherboards, too.  It may have been a sheer coincidence that I
was able to get any connectivity at all.
