But you they/you don't list the source code.  If a program is written to 
look nice with 2-4 space indents then it typically looks horrible with
6-8 space indents.

As _many_ people have pointed out already using 8-space tabs for indents
enforces a certain structuring.  We _like_ this structuring.  We do _not_
like 6 indented blocks that would become possible (and probable) with
2-4 space indents.

It is my firm belief that if this study were done with random sampling
of NetBSD kernel source you would not see any reportable differences in
comprehension.
